Cost of Services

Private psychological services are not covered by the government. However, many insurance companies offer coverage. A pre-determination letter for your insurance provider can be emailed to you upon request.

Payment can be made via e-transfer, debit card, or credit card. It is up to clients to submit their receipts to their insurance provider for reimbursement.

Psycho-Educational Assessments (Psych-Eds)

My fee for service is $220 per hour. A psycho-educational assessment (without autism assessment) costs approximately $3,700. Depending on the needs of the client, assessments may take somewhat less or more time than the approximate durations listed below.

Cost breakdown:

1. Background interview and assessment preparation (2 hours, $440)

2. Record and questionnaire review (1 hour, $220)

3. Testing session day 1 (2.5 hours, $550)

4. Testing session day 2 (2.5 hours, $550)

5. Test scoring and review (1 hour, $220)

6. Feedback session (1 hour, $220)

7. Report preparation (7 hours, $1,540)

Autism Assessments

A. Autism assessment in addition to psych-ed

When Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is suspected, it is usually recommended autistic features be investigated in addition to the information gathered through the psych-ed assessment. Usually, this additional component is an extensive interview with parents (which takes approximately three hours). A comprehensive psycho-educational assessment, including an assessment of ASD, totals approximately $4,400.

B. Autism assessment only

In select cases, it may be appropriate to have only an autism assessment (such as if the student recently completed psych-ed testing, or if the individual is unable to engage in standardized testing). Under such circumstances, testing may be replaced with a play/interaction-based assessment and autism interview. The fee for this service is approximately $2,500. This price varies depending on the individual's age and if other factors (e.g., anxiety and depression) are explored.

Other clinical assessments, including AD/HD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) assessments

Usually reserved for adults, an AD/HD-specific assessment includes a background interview, clinical interviews, questionnaires, record (e.g., report card) review, and select cognitive testing. The fee for this service is approximately $2,200.

Clinical assessments of other suspected mental disorders (e.g., mood disorders and anxiety disorders) are also offered and billed at my hourly rate of $220.

4.

Consultation and Counselling

The rate for consultation and counselling (or psychotherapy) is $220. This includes 50 minutes allocated to client contact and 10 minutes allocated to record keeping.
